Welcome to The Maples
Hello lovelies, welcome to my new website and brand new blog at The Maples.
I love to stamp, make cards, scrapbook and make 3D paper crafts. I also love to garden and entertain.
2015-2016 NEW CATALOGUE LAUNCH PARTY -2nd JUNE 2015
For my very first post I would like to share with you some of the pictures from my Stampin’ Up! New 2015-2014 Catalogue Party that I hosted at my home on 2nd June 2015.
Every party needs a cake, these are my Maples Party Animals dressed up in some new Cherry on Top DSP Paper Stack (p.144). My beautiful daughter made the party hats, and teeny tiny presents.
Each guest recieved a goodie bag upon arrival. This included a name badge with a flower made from the Floral Frames Collection Framelits (good tongue twister!) p.173, a brand new Catalogue, and lots of wonderful samples and project ideas from the new catalogue and two make and take packs. I will show you some of these in detail shortly.
A glimps of The Maples craft studio set up for the party. You can see one of the make and take cards using the delightful Sprinkles of Life stamp set and Tree Builder Punch.
This is one of the two make and take cards that were made on the day. We used the Ronald McDondald Charity Stamp, Sprinkles of Life p.189. and the Tree Builder Punch p.167. Card stock colours - Tip Top Taupe, Sky Blue, Pink Piroutte & Very Vanilla. The ink was Smokey Slate, Blushing Bride & Soft Sky. Crystal Effects were used on the icing to give a little sparkle.
Mini rulers covered with the new Neutrals Colour Collections, p.144, and Four Feathers Stamp and Thinlits (retired). This idea came to me from the card swap at the Gold Coast Convention held in May 2015. I didn't actually get to swap with this person so I can't tell you who the clever one who originally made it.
A close up of the ruler.
The idea for these cute lolly bags was from the beautiful Angela Sargeant, angelasargeant.com/
The paper was Melon Mambo and Whisper White, ink was Melon Mambo, the stamp I used is from Tag Talk p.60. I punched them out with the Lable Bracket Punch. p.166.
Some party food, mint macarons (one of the new colours), chocolate mint cupcakes and sweet and salty popcorn. There were also cake pops and a delicious Thai Chicken Salad with Peanut Sauce.
Food table full of goodies.
A display of the 5 new In Colours for 2015-2017.
A close up of one of the new In Colours - Mint Macoron. This was the other make and take card for the day.
The same card in Water Mellon Wonder.
Each guest recieved a tiny gift bag with some lollies or chocolates in it and the instructions how to make one. Even though the paper has expired, the idea can be used on any new DSP.
Another surprise in the goodie bag was a post it note holder.... a hybrid design I made up from numerous ideas-and some very clever people. The paper was from the new DSP Cherry on Top Paper Stack p.144. And the cardstock was the new Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay & Whisper White. The pencils were covered in washi tape from Cherry on Top & Bohemian Designer Washi, p.157.
The stamp I used for the post it notes was Remember This p.54, punches - Itty Bitty Accents, Scallop Circle Punch 2.2cm, Bird Builder Punch, p.167. Circle Punch 2.5cm p.167. Rhinestone Basic Jewells, p.160.
One of the projects that were on display in my craft studio for the launch party was this altered photo frame which I decorated with the wonderful Typeset DSP, p.142. This project was a lot of fun to make and I think I will make some more like this in the future.
Everyone recieved a packet of catalogue tabs for their new catalogue. You stick them onto selected pages for quick referencing, I love them.
Some cards on display made with the new current catalogue products.
Using the new Bohemian DSP and Crumb Cake carddtock, I made note books for everyone. The stamps were Feel Goods p.108 & Gorgeous Grunge. Framelits - Chalk Talk.
There were door prizes at each party which had some great products from Stampin' Up! and one major prize for the overall event which was drawn on the last day. The winner was Jo!! She won the Texture Boutique Machine - which emboses your paper with speed and ease. (no longer available) and she is thrilled.
A big thank you to all the wonderful ladies who came to my catalogue parties, their support and friendship is valued beyond words. I had a fantastic time and hope you all did too.
